The Choreographer Invites All Dance Enthusiasts To Catch "Lost Art" This Saturday, August 19

Hello, hello! This is Tiffany Rea-Fisher Artistic Director of Elisa Monte Dance (EMD). I am sending this postcard from my bedroom in Harlem, inviting you to come out and see my newest piece Lost Art. I was and am still super excited to be the recipient of the Citi Summer Streets Dance Commission to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. Citi Summer Streets occurs every year the first three Saturdays in August and as part of my commission I presented three exciting and fun works to share with the general public. August 5th saw Elisa Monte Dance Does Brubeck, August 12th was Boomerang, and on Saturday 19th, we'll perform Lost Art. I am particularly excited about the performance on the 19th and I would love to see you there.

This summer has been crazy for EMD. I am only two months into my second year as Artistic Director and in those two months the company has performed 24 shows as part of Classical Theater of Harlem’s Production of The Three Musketeers which I choreographed, held our first ever summer intensive at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, premiered a new work in collaboration with famed jazz musician Chris Brubeck and his band Triple Play, lead the ballet intensive for Lake Placid Center for the Arts, finished up my Creative Tools Program as part of the Steps on Broadway Summer Study Series, performed two of three Citi Summer Streets performances... and now we are back in the studio working on our newest piece for this Saturday. So yeah… Keeping busy just how I like it.

I feel incredibly lucky to be doing the work I am doing, with the people I am doing it with, in the city of my dreams.  I love what I do and I love sharing what I do. Being able to head programs, teach the next generation of dancers and dance-makers, and make work brings me more joy than I am able to fully communicate at the moment.

All that to say come hang with me and the EMD crew (a lovely group of super talent folks) and enjoy all that Citi Summer Streets has to offer! The performance starts at 11am at 26 Federal Plaza at Worth St. It is free and open to the public. What could be better than a free dance concert on a Saturday morning in NYC? Hope to see you there.

Love,
Tiffany
